American Desert

The American Desert is a landscape of extremes — ancient stone carved by wind and water into cathedrals of color, canyons that swallow light and return it transformed. These 26 images trace a journey through the Colorado Plateau and the canyon country of Utah and Arizona: from the predawn stillness at Toroweap's rim above the Colorado River, to the luminous corridors of Antelope Canyon where shafts of light become something close to sacred. Monument Valley's buttes rise against burning skies. Zion holds a cool, cathedral quiet. Bryce's hoodoos stand like a frozen congregation. This is a collection about patience and light — and finding in stone and silence something that feels, against all reason, alive.
